Phil Schmehl |
Formed in Detroit 4 years ago by bassist Andre
Royster, Skinhorse is one
of the first post-electro-industrial bands along with Final Cut, Code Industry and artists
from Detroit's DJ and techno cultures (Derrick May, KMS, Plus 8, etc.) to realize that the
dance floor is the true core of Detroit's Underground set. Skinhorse makes a point to
embrace both technology & live instruments, going from the digital domain and back
again.
The band is currently working on their new album, entitled "Acid". Their
latest E.P. is Heavy Beats-Deep Grooves.
Also, check out Darkness and the Machine, a collection of
Detroit Industrial & Gothic on Carpe Mortem Records featuring 2 tracks by
Skinhorse,
"More Life (Blade Mix)" and "Give To Me".
The guys also produced a track on the upcoming Iggy Pop tribute album, POP O.D. The song is "Funtime", performed by
the band Kristiva.
