A wild night...

FlyerRob (Twitch) Bullock, Sue Static, Angie (Agent 009) Womann

What started as a birthday party for Static Records founder Sue Summers rapidly evolved (mutated?) into a celebration of the music that influenced many of the artists on Static...THE EIGHTIES!!!

In what has become a must-attend event, BIG 80s FLASHBACK BASH presents Static acts and special guests performing the coolest (and kitschiest!) tunes from the Reagan era. Past years have brought surprising collaborations and stunning performances. This year was no exception.

High points:

  • Rob Bullock (Twitch) came as Dr. Evil. So what? HE SHAVED HIS HEAD! (Top that!) He did the whole set "in character" and brought the house down with his use of "finger quotes" during "Relax", at the part where it goes "hit me with your laser beam".

  • Forge doing Madonna's "Live To Tell" and Billy Joel's "Still Rock & Roll To Me". Ken Haas sat in on guitar.

  • Aaron singing lead on "We Are The World"

Low points:

  • "We Are The World" in general. Sure it was fun at 3 a.m., the night of the show, but watching the videotape made it clear, it was better doing it than watching it.
